My journey into wellness began when as a child, I joined the Red Cross Society. There, I developed the passion to help people and to see them live healthy and happy lives and I have not met a person yet, who does not want to have excellent health. The World Health Organization (WHO) statistic states that 67 percent of humanity is challenged by chronic, incommunicable but preventable diseases (high blood pressure, diabetes, cancers, celiac diseases and many more) which are linked to nutrition (either in the choice of food, availability or lack of knowledge in nutrition necessities) and lifestyle.
Going through life, I became orphaned early as my dad fell to hypertension and diabetes and my mum, to fibroids. These are nutrition and lifestyle related diseases that could have been prevented with the right knowledge and proper application of same. Their demise brought untold hardship which further drove my passion as I did not want to see any child go through same.
My area of specialty includes prevention of chronic diseases, working with clients who have challenges with weight management, its related issues (obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis) and stress.
I believe there is no disease that is irreversible in the face of proper nutrition and the right lifestyle habits.
I believe in the theory of bio-individuality which states that there’s no one-size-fit-all approach to health. Every individual has unique food and lifestyle needs as one man’s meat is another’s poison and that’s why fad diets don’t work in the long run.
